What is the course about?

Workers’ rights are human rights. International Labour Standards are designed to provide minimum levels of protection that every worker should enjoy. They serve as a safeguard against exploitation and unsafe working conditions. Fundamental rights and dignity at work, reaffirmed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, are a precondition for building inclusive and sustainable societies. However, ensuring respect for workers’ rights remains a daily struggle for many people.

This short online course combines video lectures, readings, discussion questions, and self-learning options to provide you with practical knowledge and skills for using International Labour Standards to promote and defend workers’ rights around the world.
