PUNE: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has failed to spread awareness and ensure segregation of garbage into wet and dry waste at source. As a result, garbage collectors have to go through the tedious task of separating the garbage in unhygienic conditions.
The PCMC has received over Rs 37 crore from the Union and state governments under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for proper garbage collection and disposal. Read more
